3 days in New Mexico - A travel report

Our next finish on our USA trip was New Mexico. We knew absolutely cipher about this land and were very much surprised at what it had to offer. Through our guide book nosotros decided that our first stop should exist arty and colorful Santa Fe, which turned out to be a very skillful choice indeed.

holidays2-4

Santa Fe is a magnet for artists and tourists alike and one of its famous streets is Canyon Route where there are numerous glorious galleries.

holidays2-5

Many brandish outdoor fine art works.

holidays2-6

It's one of the oldest streets in ane of the oldest cities in the US and it is an accented joy to walk around.

holidays-19

The town centre has many special shops also. This was one of the more upscale shops where I was surprised to see a Dutch brand Pauw listed amidst such great designers as Issey Miyake and Dries van Noten. I'm sure Greetje and Anja will be amazed!

holidays2-3

The store where I actually ended upward ownership stuff was In Transit (10 W. San Francisco St. Santa Iron). A really funky leather store where they sold the most exquisite bags, shoes and multiple other accessories.

An example of a great casual travel look. Really liking those shoes!

holidays-17

Lid shops could exist found everywhere. Very tempted to buy myself a cowboy lid, but they are but too impractical to pack!

holidays-16

We also explored Santa Fe's native river the Rio Grande and did some wild water rafting, but do not all the same have whatever pictures of that. I may add these subsequently…

After Santa Iron, we traveled to Albuquerque, New United mexican states'south well-nigh populous metropolis. We took the turquoise trail, a scenic route between the 2 cities. Here is just one of the rock formations you will come across.

I of the highlights is the pueblo Madrid that features many traditional houses and lovely galleries and cafes, like this one where nosotros treated ourselves to apple pie.

The identify was total of little knick-knacks and it had the well-nigh astonishing laid-back atmosphere with Bob Dylan playing in the groundwork.

mexico-3

In Albuquerque we continued our history trail and having but read Truman's biography who made the conclusion to drop the atomic bomb we decided to explore the museum devoted to this effect. Of course the place where the Manhattan Project took place (code name for the cantlet bomb project in 1942) Los Alamos is not far from Santa Fe and there are still many nuclear scientists in the surface area.

New Mexico

In the afternoon we took the cable motorcar up the Sandias Mountains where you get spectacular views of the whole area. From here information technology is conspicuously visible that this area is essentially a desert, with only the golf courses being very greenish.

New Mexico-5

The view at the back of the mountain is especially beautiful.
